Todmorden Book Festival celebrates the written word, with book-related events that stimulate, inspire and challenge audiences. The programme focuses on the work of new and established writers from across the region and the UK, as well as the work of international authors, with fiction, non-fiction and poetry events for adults and children, reflecting the rich industrial and cultural heritage of the region and exploring individual and collective stories. We are proud to have Andrew McMillan as our patron.

Todmorden Folk Festival is an annual festival of music, singing, dancing and folky family fun in the heart of the Calder Valley. Now in our 6th year, we're looking forward to welcoming performers from all over the world to our lovely town, plus we're excited to showcase the very best local folk music in venues across Tod.
There will be lots of free events, concerts and activities happening over the weekend plus an exciting ticketed programme. Check the Todmorden Folk Festival website for more details. |
The Lamplighter Festival - October
Led by the beautiful Lamplighter puppet, we light up Todmorden with a lantern parade, fire performers, street bands, illuminated installations and great food, and hundreds of lanterns made by you! Building on the huge success of the 2012 Valley of Lights, it has become an annual ritual that guides us through the dark times.
